Around 2000 or 2001, fresh out of college, I recall heading Downtown to hang out with friends and thinking how much I’d like to live in an urban environment. That itch never went away, and in 2009 I finally had the opportunity to move to the Historic Core. To live in a vibrant, up-and-coming urban community surrounded by wonderful old architecture and with a huge amount of future potential was really a dream come true.

I have lived and worked in DTLA’s Historic Core for several years. As a motion picture cameraman and still photographer, as well as a board member of the Los Angeles Historic Theatre Foundation, I understand the importance of preserving the foundation of our neighborhood, as well as integrating the growth of new residents, businesses, and developments that positively impact DTLA. I would love the opportunity to create more green space, keep public spaces clean and safe for our residents and visitors, and opening the door to new businesses.

It is my privilege and pleasure to have the opportunity to represent you as the Historic Core Resident Director in the 2014 Downtown Neighborhood Council Elections. As a resident of the Historic Core for approaching 13 years, I have known many of you through events, businesses ventures and most importantly friendships.

While I am a recent resident of Downtown Los Angeles, DTLA has been a big part of my life for nearly 10 years both through my job with the City of Los Angeles and through my volunteer work with the Los Angeles Conservancy. The key to continued success in Downtown depends on ensuring our neighborhood is inclusive, works towards sustainable economic growth, and cares for our environment. Much has been done to breathe life into this neighborhood and I look forward to serving you by contributing to this effort to make it even more livable and sustainable.

I would be honored to serve on the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council as the Historic Downtown Resident Director. I have lived in Downtown since 2011, and am a native Angelino. I am very interested in seeing our community, as well as the Downtown area, thrive. As we are all well aware of, Downtown’s recent population growth has created some challenges and I hope to be a part of the solution by being actively involved with the Council.
